Update-MATH!!!!

Hello! This morning we practiced our times tables with dice! Instead of normal dice though, I used nine sided dice to get random numbers to multiply. I have no idea why we need to practice our multiplication when it has been hammered into our long term memory, but hey, at least it’s fun!

ICE CREAM!!!!!

Ice Cream Experiment – States Of Matter

 

Items:

1. ¾ cup cream
2. 1 tbsp sugar
3. ½ tsp vanilla extract
4. 1 ½ cups ice
5. ¼ cup salt
6. Large plastic resealable bag
7. Small plastic resealable bag
8. Plastic spoon

 

Process

1. Combine sugar cream and vanilla extract in small resealable bag
2. Combine ice and salt in large resealable bag
3. Place small resealable bag in large resealable bag
4. Seal both bags tightly and shake for 8-10 minutes
5. Open both bags and enjoy delicious results

 

Reflection

I had quite a lot of fun and learnt quite a bit with this experiment. The combining of the ingredients was a fun way of doing chemistry and the ice cream itself had changed states from liquid to solid. Sadly my ice cream turned out to be more like whipped cream because it did not freeze and the shaking made it foam up. Next time I think I should shake it for longer and add more ice.

Hello everyone! Yesterday, my class started cursive writing and I have the hand cramps to show for it! I had lots of fun playing with the curves and lines. It was great!

Listening

Today, we reviewed parashat vayera. It says that the people of Israel did not listen to Moses. This links back to how some people just completely ignore what you are trying to say. One example is when adults are talking to one another or on their phones. They simply do not compute what you are trying to say. I sometimes am in place of the adult especially when I am engrossed in a novel. One of my friends said that putting a jackhammer to my head would not break my focus. So adults, try to remedy this. who knows what you are ignoring? What if it is important?

No adults allowed to read below!
