Innovation Day Reflection

The Solar Powered Street Lamp

Hello readers. Today we had Innovation day! Parents, teachers, siblings, or anyone curious about it was able to come, and they sure did! Now I will tell you about how this went and the process behind it. Let’s start with the problem that we were presented with:

“How can we provide electricity to community outdoor spaces in an energy efficient way that still maintains the safety and “fun” aesthetic of the space?”

The way we solved this problem was with a solar powered street lamp. We did a good bit of research, writing and our fair share of arguments, but finally we finished the information for our poster board. Now we had to make a model. It took time, work, cardboard, bottlecaps, and an excessive amount of hot glue, but finally, we made our model. It took a while, but finally we got our information on paper after 3 reprints! Once we FINALLY finished putting our board together, we were ready to present. This project went pretty well in my opinion but my group was always arguing and it was really getting on my nerves. All in all, I believe that this project could have been better, but it was beyond what I first thought it would be.
